About the role#
As a Product Engineering Intern, you will participate in the development of transmission systems at our global headquarters. You will work with a supervisor to complete a specific engineering project over the course of at least 10 weeks. Your work will involve transmission test analysis, component research, basic product design, computer modeling, and application engineering. You will also gain exposure to embedded control systems.
What you'll do#
- Support development activities to improve drivability and fuel economy while lowering emissions.
- Assist with transmission calibration and integration into engine and vehicle systems.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve existing products and design new technologies.
- Develop specifications, analyze data, and write technical reports.
- Interface with customers and OEMs to tailor calibrations to specific needs.
- Collaborate with technicians to set up and operate test devices and measurement tools.
- Present your project results and technical analysis to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year engineering program (undergraduate or graduate).
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Completion of 1-3 years of college coursework.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and basic mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interest in automotive engineering and the ability to work in a team.
- Demonstrated communication skills in a business setting.
- Statistical training and a 3.0 GPA in an engineering major are preferred.

- The position is on-site and full-time for Summer 2027.
