About the role#
This MBA internship at AlixPartners begins in Summer 2027. You will join our Strategy and Analysis department to work on high-stakes projects for healthy, under-performing, and distressed companies. You will work in small teams, often with limited supervision, to solve complex business challenges and deliver measurable results.
What you'll do#
- Analyze corporate performance, business models, cost-reduction opportunities, and profitability initiatives.
- Research industry trends and synthesize complex data to identify the root causes of business issues.
- Develop recommendations for new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
- Prepare presentation materials that clearly explain the logic and strategy behind your findings.
- Gather data through research, analysis, and client interviews.
- Provide guidance to analysts while collaborating with your project team and client stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an MBA program with an expected graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing analytical or quantitative work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Professional English fluency.
- Experience with AI-enabled tools, data tools like SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or R, and advanced Excel capabilities.
- Background in professional services, consulting, or client-service environments.
- Knowledge of business topics such as cost optimization, working capital management, or mergers and acquisitions.
- Ability to communicate professionally and demonstrate accountability in team settings.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time position based in the United States.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, combining remote work with in-person time at client sites or AlixPartners offices.
- Travel may be required up to 100% of the time, Monday through Friday.
- You must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
- Candidates must be able to work outside of normal U.S. business hours as project needs arise.
