About the role#
Albacore Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term. You will work directly with our engineering team in Philadelphia to support the production of drone submarines. This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship where you will contribute to the same projects as our full-time engineers from your first day.
What you'll do#
- Scale vehicle production to double-digits.
- Conduct international demonstrations to NATO.
- Assist in legal ship testing operations.
- Work with real hardware to see your code control physical systems.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency with Linux and the Linux command line.
- Experience using and writing software for ROS (Robot Operating System).
- Hands-on experience building perception, planning, or control systems for autonomous robots.
- Experience writing systems software in low-level languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Zig.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and Rust.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance and U.S. work authorization.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
