About the role#
The HR Intern supports the Human Resources Department with daily operations. You will help with attendance tracking, policy implementation, and general document management. This role reports to the Human Resources Director and involves working alongside the HR team and production supervisors.
What you'll do#
- Lead weekly new hire orientations and help employees navigate HR systems.
- Organize and maintain personnel files and company records.
- Support performance management by generating attendance disciplinary documents.
- Screen job candidates, verify applications, and launch background checks.
- Conduct weekly job candidate tours.
- Answer employee questions regarding HR issues and escalate concerns when necessary.
- Manage the keyless entry badge program for new hires.
- Prepare HR communications and assist with policy implementation.
- Participate in company events and meetings.
- Follow all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Human Resource Management or related business degree program.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate well with others.
- High attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Basic understanding of laws including FMLA and ADA.
- Previous HR experience or experience with HR software is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
