About the role#
As an Engine Programming Intern at Beenox, you will join a team working on major franchises like Call of Duty. You will contribute to the development, optimization, and maintenance of low-level technologies and proprietary game engines. This internship provides experience in AAA game production, focusing on complex problem-solving and multidisciplinary teamwork.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and maintain game engine subsystems using C++.
- Find CPU, GPU, and memory bottlenecks and perform performance optimization tasks.
- Diagnose, analyze, and fix complex technical issues or memory leaks.
- Improve and automate internal tools and rendering or build pipelines.
- Work with gameplay programming, art, and design teams to integrate new features.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a university program for software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Strong grasp of C++ including memory management, pointers, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
- Knowledge of low-level programming, multithreading, and software engineering principles.
- Rigorous analytical skills and comfort with debugging complex code.
- Good communication skills and a willingness to work in an agile team.
- Experience with first-person shooter (FPS) games.
- Hands-on experience with game engines like Unreal, Unity, or proprietary engines, or personal projects involving 3D rendering.
- Knowledge of C# or scripting languages like Python.
- Understanding of modern graphics APIs such as DirectX, Vulkan, or OpenGL, or console hardware architectures.
- A portfolio or GitHub account showing low-level programming or game projects.
