About the role#
The Organizational Management, Equity and Inclusion (OMEI) team within the Affiliate Support and Nationwide Initiatives department is looking for an intern. You will work with the team to support affiliate staff through learning programs, tools, and resources. This role involves designing and launching systems to share knowledge and experiences across the ACLU network.
What you'll do#
- Compile, maintain, and organize resource banks for ACLU leaders.
- Brainstorm and develop tools and trainings based on team meetings and data.
- Research and share best practices for training, learning methods, and resource libraries.
- Draft project plans for new programs and apply change management best practices.
- Support convenings and learning sessions by tracking impact and metrics.
- Draft preliminary language for deliverables, including internal communications, summaries, and presentations.
What you'll need#
- Experience with project management and building resources.
- Experience with user-focused design for learning programs and leadership development.
- Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to take initiative.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to think creatively, solve problems, and work under pressure.
- Commitment to the mission of the ACLU and to embedding principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in your work.
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully to resolve conflict.

- This position is based in Washington, D.C. or New York, NY.
- Work may be performed on a remote or hybrid basis.
- This is a paid internship.
