About the role#
The ACLU of New Jersey invites rising third-year law students and recent law graduates to apply for a sponsorship opportunity to work as a public interest legal fellow. This role involves developing a project proposal focused on voting rights in New Jersey for submission to external funding organizations. The ACLU-NJ will collaborate with the selected candidate to refine the proposal, ensuring it aligns with organizational priorities and provides effective mentorship.
What you'll do#
- Work on lawsuits and advocate for clients.
- Engage with advocacy and communications teams to advance legislation and public education.
- Collaborate with legal staff to develop a project proposal centered on voting rights.
- Participate in hearings, meetings, and events within New Jersey.

- Compensation: Paid at the same scale as staff attorneys, starting at $77,000 for new law graduates.
