About the role#
The ACLU of New Jersey is hiring a Policy Intern for a 10-week summer program. This is a full-time, paid position based in Newark. You will work 35 hours per week from June through August 2025. The role involves close collaboration with our Policy and Legal departments to support civil rights and liberties work.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on key issues like reproductive freedom, economic justice, and immigrants rights.
- Interview policy leaders from New Jersey and across the country.
- Analyze pending state and local legislative or regulatory proposals.
- Develop policy recommendations for our campaigns.
- Attend advocacy meetings and events with community partners, clients, and government officials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
- Strong motivation to support our mission.
- Interest in political science or related fields.
Location & details#
- The office is located in Newark, New Jersey.
- This is a hybrid role with in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
- Compensation is up to $6,400 for undergraduates and $7,500 for graduate students.
