About the role#
AccuWeather is seeking a Social Media Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role involves assisting with the execution of social media strategies across multiple platforms. You will collaborate with the team to create content, monitor social networks, and foster an online community focused on weather-related topics.
What you'll do#
- Source user-generated content and secure usage permissions from owners.
- Pitch daily weather-related content ideas for social media posts.
- Monitor social networks for testimonials, questions, comments, and user-generated content.
- Engage with users and coordinate with internal departments to resolve inquiries.
- Analyze data using various social media analytics tools.
- Research changes to social networks and create trend reports on weather-related topics.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms.
- Basic image editing knowledge.
- Ability to develop an understanding of basic scientific and meteorological concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Location & details#
- This is a remote, paid internship.
- The term lasts 5 months with a commitment of approximately 20 hours per week.
- Morning and daytime availability is preferred, though the role requires a willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
