About the role#
The Engineering and Planning Assistant supports the Engineering and Planning team by creating and maintaining technical documentation. This part-time role involves using engineering design programs and Microsoft Office to ensure manufacturing information is accurate and accessible. You will work on-site at our facility. This position requires ITAR compliance, meaning you must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident, or a protected person.
What you'll do#
- Create and revise part drawings, bills of material, work instructions, and graphics using design software.
- Assist with the maintenance of production planning documents, inventory information, and material requirements.
- Enter and manage data within engineering and business systems.
- Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and revision control.
- Organize electronic files and technical records following established procedures.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Production, and Quality departments.
- Follow safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in algebra, geometry, and basic trigonometry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, shop blueprints, and written instructions.
- Skill in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify conflicting or inaccurate information.
- Coursework or technical training in engineering, drafting, or manufacturing is preferred.
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or CNC machining is a plus.
