About the role#
As an AI/ML Engineering Intern, you will develop applications that use AI technologies to solve complex problems. You will work on new and existing systems, helping to create software that adapts and scales. This role is a temporary, full-time position with a pay range of $25 to $28 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Design, document, implement, debug, and test AI-enabled software components, including algorithms and LLM integrations.
- Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
- Create plans and estimates for software features.
- Recommend improvements to software systems by analyzing specifications and system-level decisions.
- Support cybersecurity efforts to secure systems.
- Participate in integrated test sessions with industry partners, academia, and customers.
- Document software and system designs.
- Collaborate with engineers, project leads, and program managers to meet project goals.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree in progress or completed in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
- Understanding of LLM-powered application development, including RAG, agentic workflows, and prompt engineering.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java.
- Experience with Vue.js or React and REST APIs.
- Ability to design, integrate, and debug LLM-powered systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel for technical presentations and testing.
- You must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
