About the role#
As a Sales Engineering Co-op, you will support customer-facing initiatives including solution design, pre-sales, and technical enablement. You will work directly with the sales engineering team to understand customer requirements, identify technical pain points, and assist in architecting solutions to complex data challenges. This is a 4-month assignment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the sales engineering team to write, test, and deploy software solutions using advanced Java or Scala.
- Participate in the customer proposals lifecycle, including Demos, RFIs, RFPs, and POCs.
- Build ROI models for prospects that incorporate technical solutions and business value.
- Orchestrate and manage sales engineering labs and demo instances on cloud and on-premise ecosystems.
- Develop automation scripts or go-to-market assets to support sales effectiveness.
- Commit to continuous learning by adapting to new tools, languages, and platforms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree program at the University of Waterloo.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications.
- Understanding of Kubernetes concepts such as Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
