As a Sales Engineer Co-op, you will support customer-facing initiatives including solution design, pre-sales, and technical enablement. You will work directly with the sales engineering team to understand customer requirements, identify pain points, and architect solutions for complex data challenges. This is a 4-month full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Write, test, and deploy software solutions using Java or Scala.
- Assist in managing and orchestrating lab environments and demo instances across cloud and on-premise ecosystems.
- Participate in the customer proposal lifecycle, including Demos, RFIs, RFPs, and Proofs of Concept (POCs).
- Develop ROI models for prospects that align technical solutions with business value.
- Create automation scripts and go-to-market assets to support sales effectiveness.
- Engage in continuous learning to adapt to new tools, languages, and platforms.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related degree program at the University of Waterloo.
- Proficiency in Java, Scala, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
