About the role#
As an Engineering Co-op, you will gain practical experience by supporting ABB operations in Selmer, Tennessee. You will report to the Continuous Improvement Manager and contribute to projects that enhance manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety. This is a paid, full-time position offered on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes.
- Collect and analyze data for time studies, workflow optimization, and root cause investigations.
- Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process changes.
- Design tools, fixtures, or layouts using CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Document your findings and present recommendations to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop solutions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Capability to handle multiple tasks at once while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong communication skills to share information and provide project updates.

- Location: Selmer, Tennessee.
- Work Modality: On-site or hybrid.
- Compensation: $20 to $34 per hour, depending on qualifications, graduation year, and experience.
