Social Media Intern

About the role#

This is a part-time, paid Social Media Internship based in Miami, Florida. The role runs from September 1st through December 31st, 2026, requiring 10-12 hours of work per week. You will report to the Associate Director of Social Media to support the growth and optimization of Yelp’s social media accounts by creating content that spotlights local businesses.

What you'll do#

• Plan, storyboard, and produce vertical videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Shoot mobile-first content, including quick interviews, b-roll, and product spotlights.
• Edit content using mobile or desktop tools, incorporating strong hooks, pacing, and native effects.
• Appear on camera or conduct on-camera interviews with energy and clarity.
• Write engaging captions and manage a simple content calendar.
• Create basic still graphics and thumbnails using Canva.
• Coordinate logistics with local business owners and maintain organized media libraries.
• Track performance using native analytics and iterate based on results.
• Practice accessibility-first publishing, including alt text and captions.

What you'll need#

• Recent college graduate or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Graphic Design, Marketing, or equivalent training.
• Proficiency with mobile editing tools like CapCut or desktop software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or Rush.
• Strong grasp of current social media trends, native features, and basic SEO for social platforms.
• Comfort appearing on camera and interviewing others.
• Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with business owners and the public.
• Portfolio or links demonstrating experience with short-form video content.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and currently reside in Miami with reliable transportation.

Location & details#

• Location: Remote, based in Miami, Florida.
• Compensation: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.
• Term: Fall 2026 (September 1 – December 31).
• Schedule: 10-12 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional requirements for evenings or weekends.
