Community Intern

About the role#

The Community Intern role is a 6-month development program focused on supporting local engagement efforts. Interns work alongside a local Community Manager to build relationships with small business owners and rally the local Yelp community both online and offline. This position provides tactical experience in social media management, event planning, and community building.

What you'll do#

• Plan and execute local events, including parties, meet-ups, and happy hours.
• Create and organize social media content to support regional goals and engagement.
• Maintain local online business listings by ensuring accurate information and identifying media alerts or scams.
• Engage with the Yelp community directly through the app and website.
• Collaborate with the Community Manager to understand market priorities and messaging.

What you'll need#

• Current college student or college graduate.
• Must reside in Cincinnati, OH and have reliable transportation.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Experience and interest in planning and coordinating events.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift 10 pounds without assistance.
• Familiarity with social media copywriting and asset coordination.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Location & details#

• Location: Cincinnati, Ohio (Remote work modality).
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Schedule: 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with potential for weekend work.
• Compensation: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour.
• Employment Status: Paid, part-time internship.
