Social Media Intern

About the role#

This is a part-time, paid internship for Fall 2026, running from September 1st through December 31st. You will support the growth and optimization of social media accounts by planning, shooting, and editing short-form video content that highlights local businesses. This role requires working 10-12 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

What you'll do#

• Plan, storyboard, and produce vertical videos including interviews, b-roll, and product spotlights.
• Shoot and edit mobile-first content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, utilizing strong hooks, pacing, and native effects.
• Appear on camera or conduct on-camera interviews with energy and clarity.
• Write platform-specific captions and manage a content calendar.
• Track performance using native analytics to summarize learnings and iterate on strategy.
• Coordinate with local businesses for filming logistics, permissions, and releases.
• Create basic still graphics and thumbnails using Canva.
• Maintain organized media libraries and practice accessibility-first publishing, including captions and alt text.

What you'll need#

• Recent college graduate or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, or equivalent training.
• Current residency in Los Angeles with reliable transportation.
• Minimum age of 21.
• Ability to work up to 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
• A portfolio or links to short-form videos you have shot and edited.
• Proficiency with mobile or desktop editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or Rush.
• Strong understanding of social trends, hooks, and basic SEO for social platforms.
• Ability to work independently in the field, including occasional evenings or weekends.

• Location: Los Angeles, California (Remote).
• Compensation: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour.
