Truck Driver Student

About the role#

XPO is offering a Truck Driver Student position for Summer 2026. This full-time, on-site role provides the training and experience necessary to obtain a CDL-A and begin a career in the transportation industry. This position is open to students in Logistics, Business Administration, and Nursing.

What you'll do#

• Attend training sessions to obtain a CDL-A.
• Perform vehicle inspections as required under FMCSR.
• Load and unload freight, including the use of a forklift.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with FMCSR, DOT, and company policies.
• Safely operate heavy equipment and tractor-trailer combinations under supervision.
• Lift freight and objects weighing up to 50 lbs frequently, and occasionally over 75 lbs.
• Navigate various work environments, including climbing in and out of tractor cabs and working in adverse weather conditions.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license for a minimum of 12 months.
• Attain a CDL-A permit by the first day of class.
• Maintain a safe driving record and history.
• Pass a DOT drug test.
