Willis Johnson Wealth offers a Wealth Management Internship for college juniors, seniors, or post-grad CFP candidates. This program integrates interns into advisory teams to provide technical training, one-on-one mentoring, and hands-on experience in financial planning and wealth management. Interns contribute to strategy sessions, join client meetings, and take ownership of key projects.
What you'll do#
- Prepare a high volume of Investment Review books, review compliance paperwork, and summarize meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of financial plans, reviews, reports, and client presentations.
- Perform investment and project-based research, including technical analysis using Dorsey Wright Point & Figure methodology.
- Input data into financial planning software, specifically eMoney and Morningstar.
- Observe client investment and planning meetings.
- Perform stock compliance and trade reviews as needed.
- Create and analyze performance reports for investment committee meetings.
- Attend weekly Financial Planning and Investment team meetings.
- Identify qualified prospects for business development purposes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Financial Planning.
- Minimum GPA of 3.2.
- Strong interest in a career in Wealth Management or Financial Planning.
- Demonstrated track record of initiative.
- Strong technology, research, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle research, analysis, and creative challenges under tight deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.

- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18/hour for undergraduates; $21/hour for graduates, post-graduates, and MBA students.
- Employment Status: Full-time, paid internship.
