About the role#
Wight & Company is seeking a Preconstruction Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in our Darien office, you will work within the Integrated Services Group. This position involves collaborating with our architects, engineers, and construction operations teams on various projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist the preconstruction team with data entry and document organization.
- Support the development and updates of construction schedules for upcoming projects.
- Help create phasing and logistics plans.
- Review project plans to identify specific scopes of work.
- Assist estimators by compiling project budgets, value engineering options, and cost comparison reports.
- Develop detailed scope sheets for bid packages.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Architecture, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A basic understanding of construction materials and methods.
- Strong communication, organization, and computer skills.
- An openness to learn.
- Reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.

- Compensation: $20 to $25 per hour.
