About the role#
West Michigan Community Bank is hiring a Commercial Banking Analyst Intern to join our team in Hudsonville. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term. You will work on-site and support our commercial banking operations through data analysis, loan documentation, and administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Review the loan policy manual and the 5 C's of credit.
- Attend OLC meetings and prepare the meeting minutes.
- Spread business and personal financial statements and tax returns.
- Analyze loan structures to match loan types with repayment sources.
- Review personal credit bureau information.
- Calculate debt service coverage ratios and DTI.
- Prepare collateral analysis for CRE and C&I loans.
- Create analysis charts for loan presentations, including accounts receivable, payable, and inventory concentration.
- Perform industry analysis for loan presentations.
- Participate in conference calls and customer site visits with loan officers.
- Prepare annual loan renewal requests for loan officer signature and OLC approval.
- Scan loan documents into the Synergy system.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Strong organization and time management skills to meet production timelines.
- Ability to work independently and communicate well with others.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- A willingness to travel occasionally for training or business needs.
