About the role#
Wayside Youth & Family Support Network offers clinical internship opportunities for graduate students at our Waltham site. This position focuses on community-based services designed to preserve and reunify families. Interns work as part of a clinical team while maintaining autonomy in the field. This role is paid and available for the Summer and Fall 2027 terms.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment goals.
- Perform case management, advocacy, and provide referrals.
- Offer concrete services, including transportation to appointments and assistance with accessing resources.
- Conduct home visits within the region.
- Co-facilitate Department of Mental Health activity-based groups for youth.
- Participate in agency-wide initiatives.
- Carry one or two outpatient cases if in your final year of graduate school.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a graduate student, with preference given to final-year students.
- Clinical or academic exposure to family work is recommended.
- A valid driver's license, a reliable car, and permission from your school to transport clients.
Location & details#
- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Minimum of 24 hours per week for final-year interns and 20 hours per week for first-year interns. The schedule must include three days a week, with Tuesdays required, and availability for evening hours at least two nights a week.
