About the role#
Voith Paper is hiring an Automation Engineering Intern to join our team in Appleton, Wisconsin. This position supports our Automation Group with equipment design and machine control development. The role is full-time during school breaks with the possibility of part-time hours while you are in school.
What you'll do#
- Use CAD software to create schematics and layout drawings.
- Generate Bills of Materials for machine assemblies.
- Perform technical calculations and specify components with suppliers.
- Write software for machine control.
- Review machinery requirements and specifications.
- Follow guidance from engineers, designers, and managers.
- Update engineering and project management staff on work status.
- Use internal business systems as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ABET accredited university pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Industrial experience or familiarity with Rockwell components and software are considered a plus.
