About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship based in our Boulder office. You will work 40 hours per week from June 7 to August 13. As a software developer intern, you will gain hands-on experience building digital products while collaborating with our internal teams. You will be paired with an advisor to set and track personalized learning goals throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Build and launch several web applications, ranging from simple blogs to your own custom projects.
- Develop applications using Ruby and the Rails framework.
- Practice test-driven development by writing tests before writing code.
- Attend client meetings to observe presentations, consulting, and how project expectations are defined.
- Participate in developer meetings, hack nights, and pair programming sessions.
- Contribute to internal company initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Permanent, legal right to work in the US without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
- Current enrollment in college, with preference for juniors and seniors.
- Significant coursework in computer science.
- Proficiency in Ruby on Rails or the ability to learn it quickly.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of hard work.
- An interest in working closely with designers and a desire to pursue professional web development after graduation.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site at our office in downtown Boulder, Colorado.
- The internship is a paid position with a $6,000 stipend.
- We provide weekly team lunches and office snacks.
- Course credit is available as an option.
