About the role#
Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Intern for the Summer 2027 term at our Wilmington, Delaware office. This is a full-time, paid position that offers hands-on experience in environmental consulting. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects related to water resources, land use, and infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist with fieldwork, including site inspections and sampling various media.
- Research, collect, and enter data to help interpret environmental data sets.
- Help prepare environmental investigation designs, work plans, and conceptual site models.
- Perform preliminary human health and ecological risk calculations and modeling.
- Write technical reports that summarize methods, findings, and recommendations.
- Travel as needed to support field activities.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental Engineering.
- Proficiency in MS Office products.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to perform fieldwork, which includes occasional heavy lifting.
- Effective writing and communication skills.
- Previous internship or co-op experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and AutoCAD is preferred.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.
