About the role#
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will work on projects that support client and business objectives. You will gain hands-on experience across the medical device development lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams. This role involves participating in internal and client-facing meetings to learn about consulting, product development, and collaborative problem-solving.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices and equipment.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and design assurance engineers to create technologies and designs.
- Develop and execute prototype testing plans and protocols.
- Perform PCBA and system level tests with proper documentation.
- Create schematics and layouts for small PCBAs using Altium.
- Conduct PCBA or electrical component analysis and selection based on project requirements.
- Perform rework of PCBAs and cables.
- Maintain communication with program managers and team members to meet project milestones.
- Assist in compliance with medical device regulations and standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Bachelor's degree program.
- Completion of 2-4 years of college-level coursework with a path toward a bachelor's degree.
- Basic knowledge of circuit design, common digital interfaces, analog circuit design, simulation, and debug.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Kicad or Altium.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and manage activities under specific timelines.
- Experience with complex, electro-mechanical products outside of academics is a plus.
