About the role#
As an Electrical Engineering Intern at Veranex, you will contribute to meaningful projects that support client and business objectives. You will gain hands-on experience across the medical device development lifecycle while working alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional experts. This role offers exposure to consulting, product development, and collaborative problem-solving through mentorship and team integration.
What you'll do#
- Maintain day-to-day communication with program managers and team members.
- Manage your own time and activities to meet project milestones.
- Assist in the design and development of complex electro-mechanical medical devices and equipment.
- Collaborate with software, mechanical, and design assurance engineers.
- Develop and execute prototype testing plans and protocols.
- Execute PCBA and system level tests with proper documentation.
- Create schematics and layouts for small PCBAs in Altium.
- Assist in compliance with medical device regulations and standards.
- Perform PCBA or electrical component analysis and selection.
- Rework PCBAs and cables.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Bachelor's degree program.
- Completion of 2-4 years of college-level coursework.
- Basic knowledge of circuit design, common digital interfaces, analog circuit design, simulation, and debug.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Kicad or Altium.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work under timelines.
- Experience outside of academics with complex, electro-mechanical products is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship based in Providence, Rhode Island.
- The internship is available for Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms.
- We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
