About the role#
As a VDC - MEP & Utility Intern, you will work with our team to support complex construction projects. You will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and estimating through to final construction. You will work alongside experienced professionals in VDC, engineering, and estimating to see how digital models translate into real-world results.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to projects where VDC is used for planning, coordinating, and estimating complex systems.
- Gain hands-on experience with BIM, 3D modeling, construction drawings, and digital construction technologies.
- Help coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, High Voltage, Technology, and Utility systems.
- Identify and resolve conflicts using digital models and Inventor to improve constructability.
- Gain exposure to quantity takeoffs, estimating, and bid preparation.
- Work directly with experienced professionals across VDC, engineering, and construction teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Building Science, or a related field.
- A strong interest in VDC, BIM, MEP systems, utilities, or construction technology.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with a willingness to learn.
- Comfort learning new technology and software.
- Experience with Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or other BIM/modeling platforms is a plus.
