About the role#
This is a full-time, paid Project Engineer Co-Op position based in Torrance, California. You will work on-site to support plant operations and facility maintenance. This role is available on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Consult with department managers to identify operational problems and suggest improvements to equipment and methods.
- Develop and carry out non-routine maintenance and capital improvement plans.
- Monitor and execute the plant safety program.
- Manage assigned capital projects from start to finish.
- Use your technical training to design mechanical innovations for operating departments.
- Assist with the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
- Strong skills in leadership, communication, and decision making.
- Ability to manage costs and operate within a planned budget.
- High organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Knowledge of safety compliance programs.
