About the role#
The UofL Health Nursing Scholar Program provides financial assistance to students pursuing a prelicensure nursing degree. This program supports your education while preparing you for a career as a registered nurse within our health system. You receive up to $24,000 in tuition benefits in exchange for a work commitment following your graduation.
What you'll do#
- Commit to a direct-care RN role at UofL Health within sixty days of your graduation.
- Maintain your direct-care RN position for twenty-four months.
- Complete the UofL Health Transition to Practice New Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
- Pass the NCLEX within sixty days of graduation.
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout your nursing program.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a nationally accredited nursing program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Two letters of recommendation, including one academic and one personal reference.
- A resume or CV.
- A 1,000-word essay in APA format detailing your nursing goals, personal achievements, and previous medical or volunteer experience.
- Completion of all onboarding requirements.

- This is an on-site program based in Louisville, Shelbyville, and Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
- The position is full-time.
