About the role#
The David Eccles School of Business is looking for a student to help with website maintenance, content cleanup, and accessibility improvements. You will work within the Branding, Marketing, and Communications team, reporting to the Web Content Specialist. This role offers practical experience in digital content management and quality assurance. The position is temporary, with an anticipated duration of 3 to 6 months.
What you'll do#
- Review and clean up existing website content by fixing formatting issues, outdated information, and broken links.
- Assist with accessibility improvements, such as adding image alternative text, improving heading structures, and creating descriptive links.
- Update text, images, and links directly within WordPress.
- Reorganize and repurpose existing content for web use.
- Perform routine, repetitive maintenance tasks across multiple pages.
- Participate in content audits and other quality assurance projects.
- Follow established standards to ensure consistency and accessibility across school websites.
- Work through established workflows and obtain approval from the Web Content Specialist before publishing changes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the University of Utah.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Good written communication and proofreading abilities.
- Comfort with detailed, repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently and follow specific instructions.
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new content management tools.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience with WordPress, website accessibility principles, or Adobe image-editing tools is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a hybrid position based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- The schedule is 10 to 19 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- The pay rate is $15.00 per hour.
