KUMC Student Worker - Kirmayer Intramural Official

About the role#

As a Kirmayer Intramural Official, you will facilitate intramural sports contests at the University of Kansas Medical Center. This role focuses on maintaining fair play, ensuring participant safety, and supporting the operations of the Kirmayer Fitness Center.

What you'll do#

• Officiate intramural sports contests by applying sport-specific training and established standards.
• Assist with pre-game court and field setup.
• Verify game scores and assist game monitors in assigning sportsmanship grades to teams.
• Support the training of new officials and assist supervisors with game-related matters.
• Participate in special events and assist with general field maintenance as needed.
• Attend required officials' meetings and clinics.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Knowledge of general intramural policies and procedures.
• Familiarity with sport-specific training standards.
• Ability to attend mandatory meetings and clinics.
• Preferred academic backgrounds include Kinesiology, Health Administration, Public Health, Communications, or Business Administration.

Location & details#

• Location: Kansas City, KS (On-site).
• Schedule: Primarily afternoon and evening hours Monday through Friday, with availability for various weekend and early morning shifts.
• Employment Type: Part-time, temporary position.
