KUMC Student Worker - Kirmayer Fitness Center

About the role#

The Kirmayer Fitness Center Student Worker supports the daily operations of the campus recreation facility. This role focuses on maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests while assisting with facility oversight and operational tasks.

What you'll do#

• Greet and assist all patrons entering the facility.
• Monitor fitness areas to ensure safe equipment use and adherence to facility policies.
• Clean and sanitize fitness equipment and common areas.
• Check out and organize recreational equipment and supplies.
• Assist with facility opening and closing procedures.
• Respond to inquiries regarding programs, services, and policies.
• Enforce safety procedures and report maintenance issues or accidents to supervisors.
• Support special events, intramural activities, and wellness programs as needed.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
• A background in Health Administration, Nutrition, Kinesiology, Public Health, or Psychology to provide relevant analytical skills.
• Current CPR/AED certification.

• Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $7.25 to $25.00, depending on qualifications and experience.
