Universal Processing LLC (uP) is seeking a Technical Support Intern to assist with inventory, device deployment, and merchant support operations. This role is primarily focused on supporting a partner migration project, involving device handling and system configuration. This is an unpaid internship requiring 20-25 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Learn to operate and configure common payment terminals and PIN pads, such as PAX, Dejavoo, and Valor.
- Assist with large-scale terminal reprogramming projects, including MID changes and account migrations.
- Manage office inventory by tracking device status, serial numbers, and physical movement.
- Provide technical assistance for inbound hardware inquiries under supervision.
- Process merchant applications and enter client information into internal systems.
- Ensure all deployment tasks are completed accurately and meet project timelines.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of or graduation with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin-Chinese (written and verbal) is required.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work in an operational environment with a focus on detail and problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn technical concepts.
Location & details#
- This position is on-site at the Houston, Texas office.
- The schedule is 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- The internship term is approximately 2 months or longer, depending on project progress.
- Lunch and transportation allowance are provided.
