About the role#
Universal Processing LLC (uP) is hiring a Technical Support Intern for an on-site position at our Houston office. This role focuses on supporting a partner migration project, which includes device handling, inventory management, and basic deployment tasks. The internship is expected to last approximately two months, depending on project progress.
What you'll do#
- Learn the characteristics and use cases of payment terminals and PIN pads, such as PAX, Dejavoo, and Valor, to support inventory and deployment.
- Assist with large-scale terminal reprogramming projects, including account migrations and MID changes.
- Manage inventory by tracking device status, serial numbers, and movement.
- Provide technical assistance for inbound hardware questions under supervision.
- Ensure deployment tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with entering client information into internal systems and processing merchant applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin-Chinese, both written and verbal.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work on-site 20-25 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.
- Willingness to learn technical concepts and solve problems with guidance.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Modality: Fully on-site, 5 days per week.
- Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Lunch and transportation allowance are provided.
