About the role#
The Social Media and Marketing Intern will support the digital marketing needs of River Oaks Hospital. This role focuses on creating authentic content, capturing photography and video, and developing storytelling that reflects patient care and community impact. You will report to the Director of Business Development and help strengthen our brand presence.
What you'll do#
- Develop and schedule content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms to highlight hospital programs, staff, and patient stories.
- Capture, edit, and organize photography and short-form video for social media, websites, and internal communications.
- Craft captions and visual narratives that communicate empathy and expertise in behavioral health.
- Brainstorm and propose content ideas, campaigns, and engagement tactics aligned with hospital priorities.
- Monitor platform performance and community comments to provide insights to the marketing team.
- Assist with digital asset organization, basic graphic design, and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to gather stories while ensuring compliance.
What you'll need#
- Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at Tulane University, Loyola University, or Dillard University.
- Pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, photography, videography, or a related field.
- Strong visual storytelling skills with experience in photography and short-form video creation.
- Ability to create content for multiple platforms and adapt messaging for different audiences.
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality in a healthcare environment.
- Preferred: A portfolio of past work, interest in behavioral health, and experience with content calendars or basic analytics.
