About the role#
Turning Point Community Programs offers a structured internship program designed to integrate academic knowledge with practical application in mental health care. Interns receive weekly clinical supervision focused on effective practices, diversity competence, and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Engage in therapeutic and supervisory alliances based on established clinical practices.
- Conduct intakes and apply diagnostic criteria and evidence-based interventions for major disorders using the DSM-5.
- Manage cases, including the development of bio-psycho-social-spiritual-cultural assessments and level-of-care plans.
- Participate in group processes and dynamics, moving from a co-facilitator role toward an independent facilitator role.
- Provide therapy and counseling services once assessed as ready.
- Examine theoretical and empirical literature to support clinical supervision and service delivery.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a university program requiring placement in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Ability to engage in training opportunities and meet all ethical and legal responsibilities.
- Readiness to participate in structured learning environments tailored to your specific stage of professional development.
