Turning Point Community Programs offers a structured internship program designed to integrate classroom theory with practical application in mental health care. Interns work across various programs to gain professional experience while contributing to the delivery of services. This is an unpaid, full-time, on-site role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Participate in weekly clinical supervision focused on theoretical literature and effective supervisory alliances.
- Conduct intakes, apply diagnostic criteria using DSM-5, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Manage cases, including the development of assessments and client care plans.
- Engage in group processes, moving from co-facilitator to facilitator roles as readiness is assessed.
- Provide therapy or counseling services once deemed ready by supervisors.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university program requiring a placement, including majors such as Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Nursing, Health Administration, Nutrition, Biomedical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
- Ability to engage in training opportunities and fulfill ethical and legal responsibilities.
- Readiness to work at different stages of professional development, including students in medical, nurse practitioner, or clinical nutrition tracks.
