About the role#

Turning Point Community Programs offers a structured internship program designed to integrate classroom theory with practical, professional experience. This program supports students across various stages of their development, providing opportunities to work within mental health care settings while receiving regular clinical supervision. This is an unpaid, full-time, on-site internship with rolling availability.

What you'll do#

Interns engage in a comprehensive range of clinical and administrative tasks, including:

• Participate in structured, weekly clinical supervision focused on theoretical and empirical literature.
• Conduct intakes and manage case responsibilities, such as assessments and development of client plans.
• Engage in therapeutic and supervisory alliance-based practices.
• Serve as co-facilitators in group processes, moving toward independent facilitation.
• Receive training in practice theories and interventions, including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care.
• Support members with specialized clinical needs and research local resources for service provision.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a university program, specifically in fields such as Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Nursing, or Public Health.
• Knowledge of ethical and legal responsibilities in clinical practice.
• Understanding of diversity competence through treatment models and effective interventions.
• Ability to apply diagnostic criteria and research-based interventions.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage in clinical supervision.

This internship is available on-site at locations in Rancho Cordova, Chico, Modesto, Stockton, Fairfield, Santa Rosa, and Grass Valley, California.
