About the role#
We are looking for an intern to join our RF/microwave engineering team in Syracuse, New York. You will support the design and development of products for military and space-based applications. This is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work under direct supervision to gain experience in the design, manufacturing, and testing of microwave products.
What you'll do#
- Design and simulate RF/microwave components and circuits.
- Collaborate with other interns, test engineering, and technicians on program tasks.
- Develop test procedures, test stations, and data reduction software.
- Design and evaluate test circuits and components using layout tools.
- Perform design reviews and prepare presentations for gated design reviews.
- Provide simulation results, including tolerance analysis.
- Correlate expected performance with actual test results.
- Support the Material Review Board process.
- Follow standard design processes and learn manufacturing limitations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS, MS, or Ph.D. program in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- A strong courseload in physics and mathematics.
- Basic knowledge of microwave theory and a strong interest in the field.
- Experience with AutoCAD, HFSS, and circuit simulation or modeling tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MATLAB.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and solve problems.
- Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Electromagnetics coursework and 3D modeling experience are preferred.
- Ability to comply with Export Control Policies, including ITAR and EAR regulations.
