About the role#
We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on an electronic test system designed to improve quality and reliability. This position is based in Binghamton, New York, and requires on-site work.
What you'll do#
- Develop and program an electronic test system for a specific function.
- Use a structured engineering approach that considers ergonomics and software interface usability.
- Collaborate with mentors and project champions to solve engineering problems.
- Define the bill of materials and procure necessary components.
- Run Design of Experiments (DOE) with test samples to verify and validate your prototypes.
- Document your design and publish a user guide for the system.
- Present project updates to the local leadership team.
- Attend relevant workshops and trade shows.
What you'll need#
- You are currently a college Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- You have a solid grasp of electrical, mechanical, and software concepts.
- You can create software algorithms and interpret engineering drawings or specifications.
- You have experience applying engineering principles to solve problems.
- You possess project management skills and the ability to use statistical tools to analyze experiments.
- You make data-based and ethical decisions.
- You have strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
- You work well in cross-functional teams and are eager to learn.
