About the role#
TrueNorth Companies is seeking a Social Media Intern to join the Growth Marketing Team for the Summer 2027 term. This paid, full-time position focuses on content planning, brand messaging, and campaign reporting. You will work directly with our marketing team to support digital growth efforts and help maintain our presence across various social platforms.
What you'll do#
- Write, edit, and schedule posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms.
- Create graphics, video clips, and other multimedia assets.
- Monitor channels for trends, engagement, and community interaction.
- Track social media performance and suggest improvements.
- Collaborate with team members on campaigns and the content calendar.
What you'll need#
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proficiency with social media scheduling tools like Sprout or Hootsuite.
- Familiarity with Canva or Adobe software.
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in the insurance industry.
- Prior internship or job experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
- The internship runs for 11 weeks from May to August 2027.
- Housing is provided for interns who do not have local housing for the summer.
- This position is paid and does not offer visa sponsorship.
