About the role#
The UA Gameday Operations Intern supports the execution of gameday logistics at the University of Alabama. This role involves managing campus security and parking staff, coordinating with various entities including athletics departments and emergency services, and optimizing traffic flow. Interns assist with reserved parking sales and renewals while collecting and analyzing operational metrics to improve the fan experience.
What you'll do#
- Manage campus security and parking personnel.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including UA Athletics, police, and emergency management.
- Optimize traffic flow and manage public tailgating areas.
- Assist with reserved parking sales and renewals.
- Collect and analyze operational metrics and data.
- Handle operational tasks such as placing signage, cones, and barricades.
- Monitor fan experience and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Work with vendors to ensure quality service.
- Assist with other events such as Men’s Basketball, Gymnastics, commencements, and Bid Day.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Kinesiology, or Sociology.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented mindset.
- Energetic and outgoing personality.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Interest in a career in the sports industry.
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Availability to work all seven UA home games, including long hours.

- Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Rolling.
- Expected Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week during home game weeks, with varying hours during away game and off weeks.
