About the role#
The Tournament Services Intern supports the planning and execution of the Principal Charity Classic. This position offers exposure to event management, marketing, and communications tasks. You will work alongside full-time staff to prepare for and execute the tournament, which takes place June 2 through June 6, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the planning and execution of events like pro-ams, corporate hospitality, and junior clinics.
- Manage client ticketing dashboards and help sponsors or ticket holders with account inquiries.
- Interact with prospective sponsors and ticket purchasers via phone, email, and in-person.
- Organize and distribute tournament merchandise to staff, stakeholders, and spectators.
- Create planned content for digital, print, and in-person formats.
- Pitch story lines to media partners to increase tournament coverage.
- Support staff with credential management, honorary observer coordination, and mass mailings.
- Handle logistics including moving items to and from tournament headquarters.
What you'll need#
- Availability from April to June 2027, including the full duration of tournament week from June 2 to June 6, 2027.
- A high school diploma and must be at least 18 years old.
- A valid driver's license.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail.
- Flexibility and punctuality, including a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and long hours as the event approaches.
