About the role#
Trilon is hiring a Civil Engineering intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in West Union, Iowa. You will report to a Project Manager and gain experience across municipal and environmental engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with construction observation, including measuring quantities and ensuring work meets standards.
- Review and edit engineering plans.
- Perform both office and fieldwork as required by project needs.
- Use CAD software and complete basic design computations.
- Help the project team prepare deliverables.
- Learn engineering standards and how local and state regulations apply to design.
- Collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists.
- Gain exposure to surveying tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with reading blueprints.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A self-starter mindset.
