About the role#
TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Power Distribution Intern for our Kettering, Ohio office. This is a full-time, paid internship scheduled for Summer 2027. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders, partnering with engineers, scientists, and technologists on various projects.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Joint Use team on field collection and remediation tasks.
- Shadow Distribution Design team members to learn how to design services, subdivision, and government mandated projects.
- Gain experience with the Field Audit Team, which involves primarily field-based work.
- Handle other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
What you'll need#
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Currently a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor or Associate Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical and problem-solving abilities.
- A self-motivated and detail-oriented mindset.
- An honest, hard-working, and eager-to-learn attitude.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Some exposure to finance is a plus.

- Location: Kettering, Ohio.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June through August).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience and education. Employees may be eligible for the annual Discretionary Bonus Program.
