About the role#
TRC Companies is seeking a Power Distribution Intern for our Summer 2027 program in San Diego. This is a full-time, paid position running from June through August. You will work under the supervision of project managers and team leaders, collaborating with engineers and scientists on various power projects. This role offers the potential to transition into a full-time position upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Perform distribution electric design work.
- Create design sketches to guide construction crews.
- Layout project sites for electrical power provision.
- Gain experience with utility design standards, engineering workflows, and project delivery processes.
- Assist with other related duties as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 21 years old.
- Current junior or senior status pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid technical and problem-solving abilities.
- A self-motivated and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Some exposure to finance is a plus.
- An honest, hard-working, and eager attitude.
