About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment. You will apply industrial engineering principles to real-world production challenges while working alongside production, quality, and engineering teams. The role focuses on projects that improve safety, quality, and efficiency across our operations.
What you'll do#
- Support industrial engineering and manufacturing improvement projects.
- Conduct time studies and process observations to evaluate cycle times, labor usage, and workflow.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks, waste, and process variation.
- Assist in developing standard work and manufacturing instructions.
- Evaluate workstation layouts, material movement, and overall production flow.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives on the production floor.
- Collect and organize data to measure performance and validate process improvements.
- Work with production employees to develop practical solutions for existing processes.
- Prepare project documentation, analysis, and presentations for stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data effectively.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working in a team environment.
- Comfort working directly in an active manufacturing environment.
- A genuine interest in manufacturing operations and continuous improvement.
