About the role#
The Toledo Mud Hens are looking for a Social Media Intern to support the Toledo Walleye hockey season. This role offers hands-on experience within a working press box. You will work directly with the marketing department to manage social media presence and capture the fan experience during game days. This is a paid, part-time position covering the Fall 2026 and Winter 2027 season.
What you'll do#
- Manage social media efforts across Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok before, during, and after games.
- Write game stories for all home and road games for the team website.
- Assist the Digital Marketing Manager and Social Media Specialist with in-game experiences and team events.
- Cover select community events on social channels.
- Respond to fan comments, messages, and mentions to drive engagement.
- Brainstorm and create content tailored to specific platforms.
- Assist with general marketing projects in the front office.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or a recent graduate of a bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Broadcast Production, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of hockey.
- Experience editing short-form video content for platforms like TikTok and Reels.
- Ability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
- Professional communication skills and a friendly approach to fan engagement.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move comfortably for the duration of a shift.

- Schedule: Requires flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays throughout the hockey season.
