Software Engineer Intern (Java)

About the role#

The Software Engineer Intern (Java) will work with application and platform developers to implement business requirements into concrete solutions. A primary focus of this role is to maximize the adoption of AI within the development environment to accelerate software development velocity.

What you'll do#

• Develop software solutions that align with guidelines established by Security, Architecture, and Solution Leads.
• Expand current AI usage through the integration of IDE tools.
• Create documentation and test scripts to support development work.
• Provide documentation to the DevOps team to facilitate successful deployment of changes to the production environment.
• Support business-as-usual activities by collaborating with Application Support and Customer Operations teams to resolve production defects, performance issues, and system outages.

What you'll need#

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Experience in Java application development (JDK 8 and JDK 11) with expertise in jBoss servers.
• Proficiency with the Spring framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
• Experience working within an Agile Software Development Lifecycle.

• Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
• Term: Fall 2027.
• Work Modality: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office).
• Employment Type: Full-time, paid internship.
