About the role#
The Agentic Arch team builds AI-native infrastructure to change how software is designed, built, and operated at scale. You will research and deploy agents that reason over large codebases, interact with complex tools, and complete engineering tasks across distributed production systems. This role focuses on developing frontier methods and bringing them into production to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
What you'll do#
- Conduct research on reliable long-horizon agents for complex, multi-step software engineering and operations tasks.
- Advance agent capabilities in hierarchical planning, memory management, tool use, and multi-agent coordination.
- Co-design agents and models using post-training, reinforcement learning, and test-time scaling.
- Build scalable agent infrastructure for orchestration, evaluation, and observability.
- Apply new methods to workflows like cross-repository changes, testing, large-scale migrations, and incident diagnosis.
- Translate research into production systems and define evaluation methodologies to measure impact.
- Collaborate with researchers, infrastructure teams, and product engineers to deploy solutions at scale.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience in machine learning, natural language processing, software engineering, or distributed systems.
- Demonstrated research or engineering experience in AI agents or related areas.
- Understanding of agent planning, model post-training, reinforcement learning, or multi-agent systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, Go, or Java.
- Ability to formulate ambiguous problems, design experiments, and iterate from evidence.
- Preferred: Evidence of research excellence through publications or open-source work, experience with LLM agents or AI developer tools, and familiarity with large-scale distributed systems or CI/CD infrastructure.
