About the role#
The Chemistry and Biochemistry department is seeking a student worker to assist with the preparation and maintenance of lab and recitation sections. This role involves working in the chemical stock room to set up and clean up materials, supporting instructors with administrative tasks, and ensuring student safety during lab procedures.
What you'll do#
- Set up and clean up lab materials for weekly sessions.
- Supervise student safety during lab procedures.
- Assist instructors by answering student questions regarding lab procedures and course materials during lab or recitation sections.
- Perform general administrative tasks related to lab or recitation sections.
- Handle additional responsibilities as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at the university.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of office equipment and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Preferred qualifications include previous experience in a lab, stockroom, or tutoring role, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office software.
