About the role#
The Holmes Student Center Receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for the university, welcoming students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Based at the first-floor reception desk, you will provide essential support to the Student Success Initiatives team by creating a professional and inviting atmosphere for all guests.
What you'll do#
- Greet and welcome students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Provide accurate information regarding campus resources, services, and events.
- Assist with campus tours by offering an overview of facilities and student life.
- Answer inquiries and direct individuals to the appropriate departments or offices.
- Manage incoming calls and emails with a professional, courteous approach.
- Maintain an organized and efficient front desk area to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Collaborate with other student success initiatives to support a positive campus environment.
- Represent the university at designated off-campus events, including recruitment fairs and community engagements.
- Attend training sessions and meetings to remain current on university policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student at The University of Tulsa.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- A commitment to student success and quality service.
- Knowledge of campus resources is an asset; previous customer service or front desk experience is preferred.
